are you sure there isn't a more logical reason for the rejection such as limited space? more than 100 ppl apply to rotate and there just isn't enough room for all of the students(including their own students)

There is an amont of randomness involved. Don't take it personally.
We all apply for residency broadly, so you'll still probably pay the bucks to apply there. The only thing that changes is that you do your away elsewhere. |

i didn't get an away elective at the program i eventually matched to and was chief resident. don't read too much into it, there are many factors that effect acceptance to an away rotation and many of those factors have nothing to do with how much they like you.
