Can you share with me your info on the role of a pharmacist and what challenges and opportunities your foresee for pharmacist in the future?

For hospital pharmacist:


Evaluate new medications to recommand those that are safest and most effective for individual patient needs

Advise and guide physicians, nurses and other health care providers in medication selections and administration * not that they really listen to pharmacists*

Counsel patient directly to help each patients use medication wisely * this is also done in retail*

Monitor every stage of medication therapy to improve all aspects of delivery * I love going on the run with the pharmacist when she does that*

Work under sterile conditions to combine injectable medications with fluids to create the compounds that patients receive intravenously * I will be so happy when they will train me to do this, retail pharmacists don't do that *
