I currently have the APhA Book and the Kaplan Book. I have done the two practice test that came with my Kaplan Book, one online and the other in the book. I scored 60%, 65%. But obviously I am not done studying as I plan to take the exam towards the end of June. Just took them to gauge my weaknesses and strengths after some studying. And I know what they are. mini question: 1. How important are knowing max doses and dosage forms. I really need to work on dosage forms.... and some other areas.. Anyways, if anyone used the following question banks, please elaborate on the usefulness. 1. Kaplan Question Bank 2. Rx Prep Question Bank 3. APhA CD or complementary online questions for members 4. Appleton and Lange Questions (BOOK) 5. ChaseNaplex 6. Other Resources Thanks! |

APhA first and then Kaplan - that's it. Don't worry about anything else.

Good tool for practice questions to see how your studying is going. It is certainly helping me brush up some areas.

Thank you so much for the info. You are very diligent. Would you pls give me advise as how are you getting prepared? How long did you study for? Were you working while studying? How many hours daily? Did you read? Summarized? I did Pass Naplex Now in 2010. I feel overwhelmed with so much information to stick in my brain. I keep reading chapters and then I keep forgetting them. I am so discourage now. It looks that PNN is a very good source, but I do not understand how to use it after the class. I appreciate your input. |

Thanks Well, to me this exam is not to be played with, so I am giving it my all. I want to PASS it the first time I take it. How long have I been studying? Well on my off rotation when I was a P4, which was 5 weeks, I was studying. 3 weeks break before graduation this May, I was studying Now to possibly the end of June or beginning of July, I am studying and doing practice questions. I plan on taking it maybe end of june or beginning of july How many hours do I study? Since I am not working, I act like I am going to work everyday. Hit the library from about 930-430 or even 5pm Study resources I have three resources, the Kaplan book, APhA, and Rx Prep. I would say Rx Prep is very good as it tells you want you need to know in a way... It is quick and dirty, no extra information that is not needed. I also read some chapters in APhA and did the questions after reading.... then I went online to do the questions for that chapter (APhA question bank) I also visit different forums to read about people's experiences and make a note of things to focus on... for example I just read that some math questions... you have to do rounding/decimal places/ and fill in your answer..... I am going to quickly brush up on that... to make sure I am rounding correctly.. I also used Stoklosa for calcuations...... and that pdf 120 calculations floating around ... to practice.... I also try to google to see if I can find any practice naplex questions for FREE.. the one I uploaded, I found it on google.....so i uploaded it.. I just recently bought Appleton and Lange Q and A and would start doing more practice questions I also have the Kaplan question bank for 1 month.. Other tidbits I take some notes for myself on things I think are important.... And try to review them daily I also utilized flashcards available on quizlet.com..... I created some myself and I study the flashcards.... Don't be discouraged, the more I study, I believe that I can BEAST on this exam. You should feel the same way, go in with CONFIDENCE. Since you said you are having diffculty remembering, I would suggest for you get the RxPrep Book.... It is very easy to read and it tells you want you need to know. Once I pass this test, I am going to relax then hit Law... I cannot wait. |

I tried going through the practice exam as well and it seems to0 heavily focused on brand vs generic names. I felt very frustrated as I was going through the questions. I also took pre-Naplex three days ago, and I felt it was easier than these questions and a little bit of a different format.

yeah i see why the guy did that though... the naplex does use some old random brand names from what i've heard, but I doubt it's near as bad as this guy is making it.

I found Lange Q&A the most helpful sample questions for Naplex preparation. The pdf file attached is too heavily focused on brand vs generic.

Whatever practice questions one can get their hands on is what matters. The more practice one gets, the better exam results will be.

Did anyone get pharmacokinetic questions on Naplex? Just wondering if I need to spend time on that topic or concentrate on other ones.
