How long after you submit your primary application to AMCAS does it usually take for universities to send you their secondary application?

Depends on the school. Some send out the secondary before your application is even verified. Others wait until all of your materials are in (transcripts, etc), and some are sent out on a specific date, regardless of when you submitted (i.e. August 1st, etc).

when they send an email giving log in info and saying that you should complete the supplemental application and pay the fee....that means they are requesting the secondary, correct?
So ideally we should submit it 2 weeks after their initial email? thanks |

I still haven't received any secondaries! I submitted my AMCAS 6/21 and it hasn't been verified...but I feel like a bunch of people already got secondary emails who haven't been verified. I am getting nervous...

everyone who has gotten secondary emails has gotten verified. they won't send your application out to schools until it is verified, so chillax.

I was verified last week (7/15) when can I expect to get most of the secondary emails?
I've gotten a few (maybe 5 schools) but I received some of them before verification (GWU). What should I do? /nervous |

Hey y'all. So I am in desperate need of help. I will take my MCAT on August 23 rd and my AMCAS application for EY 2012 has been processed and verfied. Now I am obviously recieving my secondaries from the respective schools. I don't think it is managebale for me to juggle between completing secondaries and studying for the MCATs. I work 35 hours in addition to everything, and am not looking for slack.
I realize some schools prescreen till my scores are in, however most of them do not. However, they will not complete my application till after my scores are in anyways. So my question is, would it be ok if I wait to complete my secondaries after Aug 23rd even though I have received most of them now? Please advise.

How do we know which schools pre-screen secondaries and which schools don't?
And if we have an MCAT still upcoming (Aug 2011), even if we complete secondary beforehand they won't look at it, correct? |

for the secondary question "why this school", how specific/what kind of factors do they want to hear about? for example, is it inappropriate to comment on the particular city/location, or the grading system, or vague hearsay type of things such as the camaraderie within the classes? for some reason these types of questions overwhelm me

My secondary says, "If you wish, you may attach a letter..." Should I attach one? It doesn't ask a specific question and is very very vague (just says for the committee to better assess you). I feel that I have written everything in my personal letter, but I wasn't sure if I should kind of re-write it and then add why I want to go to the school, even though that will only take up about 3 sentences. ?? Help please ??
