So Ohio State is my first choice and I submitted my secondary on 6/27. My GPA is a little below their average and my MCAT is above their average. I never received an e-mail saying my secondary was complete, but my status changed to application received. So I told myself everything is fine and I would patiently wait for an interview invite. Now it is 4 months later and I am concern my number one choice has placed me on hold. Is it in appropriate for me to call admissions and ask about my application?

You can always call and ask. If you're wondering about something as trivial as to whether you're application is complete or not, call and set your mind at ease. If you're wondering whether you've already been reviewed and passed over or if you're in line for an interview, they might not tell you that kind of information. But why not call and ask? Just be polite, calling won't hurt your chances.

My math is much different than that. Eventually, about 50% of interviewees will be accepted, but that includes waitlist and people deferred.

He's right. 50% overall acceptance doesn't mean 50% of interviewees get an acceptance right after they interview.

Two weeks ago I called into the admissions office. The secretary told me that they accepted 5 or 6 people off of the deferred list and only 4 people from the previous interview cycle. I am on the deferred list as well.

I feel like they're gonna give out less straight acceptances and more off the deferred list because of their over enrollment last year.

Mine still says "Interview Completed" as well. I'm starting to suspect the November 8th deadline was a mistake. The status page says "10 days after your interview", which is what Dean Capers said as well (meaning November 9th for me).

I might be wrong... But I'm pretty sure he is going to call tonight. He doesn't usually call on interview/deliberation days (which are mon/wed), and Nov 8th is today. But if it's not tonight, sorry for getting your hopes up.

Maybe, but they tweeted that if you interviewed on the 24th, 26th, or 31st, they would let you know today. Mine was on the 24th, so by the 10 day logic i would have heard back yesterday.

I just called the office. They told me the date they sent out was wrong and the actual dates were the 11th and 15th.
