It will be via status update. You'll receive an email that says your status has been updated, so you'll have to log-in to the status page to find out. As far as when is concerned, it will have to be sometime after that Wednesday. I would watch their twitter for updates! Good luck!

I interviewed at this school yesterday. Everything you need is within walking distance of the college, and it seems like exciting changes (eg, new curriculum and buildings) will be in place for our class's M1 and M3. I hope to receive good news in two weeks!

i liked that aspect too, but the newer curriculum is kind of turning me off. They seem to be heading towards a lot more independent/online learning, and a lot less lecture + the fact its the first year they are trying it

They told us 3-4 hours of in-class lecture each day. What do you consider independent study?

There will be lecture - there will just be many options to choose from to learn the material. It's basically melding IP and ISP pathways together, and allowing students freedom in how they choose to absorb the material. There will be faculty advisors for each student to assist them in finding their best learning style.

The most important aspect of the new curriculum will be the clinical exposure - much more of it and much earlier. They've been running pilot programs with our class and the class above us, and it's been getting great reviews from those who participate - I take that to mean it's going to be a very helpful way and even enjoyable.

Living near the medical campus is pretty safe(not so common, I found during interviewing last year) and literally anything you could want is really within walking distance. Nice deal.

Practically speaking, is deferred a separate status to waitlisted here? I know that officially it is, but have any current students been successful after receiving this status?

Last year when I interviewed (very late in the cycle) Dr. Capers said specifically that 15 students had been pulled from the Deferred list. I was placed on that list after my interview, but several people were rejected so they definitely do reject post interview...So at least for now Deferred is better than nothing. But no, Deferred = up for re-review after they are able to interview other qualified applicants to see if you make the cut - not a wait-list unfortunately

I got deferred too. It seems like everyone so far has gotten accepted or deferred. No one posted about post-interview rejection yet

I'm having trouble checking my status...I went to the website listed in the email and logged in, but its telling me to go to another website, for which I don't have a password to go with my AAMC ID. Help? (sorry if this has been asked before)

They said they usually don't hand out rejections this early in the cycle, but it does happen rarely. My guess is you'd have to really mess up the interview pretty good to get an all out rejection this early.

Seems like last year most people did get deferred if they weren't accepted (myself included) but there were a couple SDNers who posted with a rejection so it has happened before as per last year's thread

Taxi, in my opinion. There is a way to do it by bus, but I'm not sure how, to be honest.

Agree w/ TDD, probably do taxi. Buses are very possible, but take a lot more planning/time. Or, if you're staying with a student host, they might even pick you up.

The best way would be taxi. Public transport will be way to complicated and you will have to change a couple of buses and wait and what not.
The cab usually takes ~$20. If you need some contact numbers of the cab companies, let me know!

2.5 weeks?

They gave me a date 2 months after i got the invite!

Invite in Sept for interview in Nov.


what is the format of the interviews? where can i go to find out?

Call them and ask them. Trust me, they'll either give you what they have or make an effort to produce something for you. If you have this question, it means more do, and they'll take it seriously and help you out.
