I had my interview for St. Joseph in February and got my acceptance call about 1 week after my interview. I have turned in the deposit fee to secure my spot, but I'm still waiting on a couple of other schools. Do you guys think this is a good school? I was very impressed with the curriculum they presented, but I am still nervous about how they didn't get ACPE status last year when they tried. I know they got ACPE status this year, but I hope they are also able to get pre-candidat status after.

What does everyone think?

Oh , you got acceptance after one week of the interview date? It has been 10 days for me already. I am impressed with the curriculum of the school too. I got an interview with Pacific U, OR and I see that both school has kinda the same curriculum which is very promising. In addition, there are two hospitals around the school so it is also a plus. For the pre-candidate status, they got approved. You can check it here http://www.sjc.edu/academics/schools...editation.html

I would love to know more about people who got interview at this school but it seems it is too new so rarely people know about it ...

Btw, I am from CA. How about you ?

Yeah, I know they received pre-candidate status this year. But they also applied for it last year and didn't get it, so they had to hold off on opening the school until this year. I am not sure on the exact details. I have also had interviews at WNEC, U of M, UIC, and MCPHS. But honestly, the curriculum of St. Joseph is so solid so I am really confused on what to do lol. I am from MN, btw!

You got acceptance to SJC too ? I like the curriculum so much too . However, I have not heard anything from them. Tomorrow will be exact 2 weeks since the day I got interview. Hopefully I will know it by tomorrow so that I can have a schedule plan for Appalachian COP, UNE, Husson and Belmont.

I interviewed in January and was accepted 2 weeks after. I also got into another school that has already been established and graduated a class, so I am really confused as to what to do. I know ACPE gave St. Joseph pre-candidate status, but the fact that they didn't get it on their first try concerns me. The other school is an established school with a 4 year program and st. joseph's is a brand new program but a 3 year program. The 3 year program is really enticing and the way they explained the curriculum to me sounded promising. I just can't decide if I want to take a risk on a new program or go with one that is already accredited. What are y'alls thoughts on this?

I got accepted last Friday. Meridith told me that there are 68 seats and 54 of them sent in the deposit. I still have other 5 interviews. One of them is from Appalachian COP but I still like St. Joe the best.

It was very relaxing. Why St Joes, why pharmacy, tell me your pharm experience, your strength and weakness, Math Exam is super easy. People told about it as PCAT but it was much easier. About the essay, they give out 6 topics for you to choose. There are 2 Profs during the interview. Good luck

as long as the School has precandidate status from ACPE, you need not worry. 3 years instead of 4 means 1 less yr of tuition plus 1 year of earning which is quite a difference.
The school is very solid. Saint Joseph College, the mother school, has a sterling reputation and they spent millions on the facility so it is not going away. Very solid people and curriculum

Yeah, I'm in the exact same situation as you!! My parents think I should definitely just go to St. Joseph, just because its a 3 yr program vs 4 yr. At the same time though, I'm not sure if it will be more difficult for us to get jobs later on since we are coming from a brand new school, versus an old one. What are your thoughts? This is such a confusing decision!!

What is Roosevelt's program like? Is the curriculum similar to St. Joseph? Or is it many classes at the same time and throughout the summer?

its the same cirrcumulum, its a block schedule with classes in the summer and also it also focuses on groups and group interaction. like when i went to st joesph interview 1st then i went to roosevelt and while at roosevelt they were talking about the cirrcumulum i was like this is the same like at st joesph

Hey guys, I applied as well and have yet to hear anything.
I submitted my app to all of my schools of interest last month. So far 3 out of 6 said no. I wish that I could have applied earlier but I'm NOT giving up NO WAY!

Yes, the one in the package that Meridith gave on the interview day. She says she will send us the email of classmates so that we can talk about the accommodation. How about you ?

Default Finances/Scholarships

For those who are choosing this school how do you plan to finance your education? Are there any graduate scholarships? I have an interview this month...and honestly, the cost is very discouraging.

I think because it's a 3 year program so it saves cost of one year compared to other 4 year school. It has financial aids also. The rest will be private loan.

For other people: how far is the process of looking for a place for 2 yrs in Hartford ?

fyi
as a pharmacist and an employer, I NEVER asked except in casual discussion where an applicant went to School. A Pharmacist is a Pharmacist as far as initial discussion . From there, it is what have you done to distinguish yourself or what are your ideas about pharmacy etc.
good luck

I really liked the townhouses...I think they were perfect for young adults getting their professional degree. The one I saw had 4 bedrooms (I think most do) and it was really nice. I'm a female possibly looking for co-ed roomates...we're all adults and it would be great to know everyone. Let me know if anyone's interested.

Default Hi Everyone!

I interviewed at SJC a little over a week ago and haven't heard anything yet. I really like the school. I received an interview invitation from Roosevelt CoP the same day as my interview at SJC! It was a blessing. I also took a tour of the townhomes down the street from SJC. Did anyone take a tour of the awesome (but expensive) lofts right next door?
