Jack White is extremely talented. I HIGHLY recommend the documentary "It Might Get Loud" featuring Jack White, The Edge, and Jimmy Page. I think it's a must see for any rock fan.

This scene is awesome:

Can't download your link since I am on an iPad. But my favorite scene was the beginning when he made an electric guitar out of a 2x4.

Maybe that's the scene you posted.

NICE!!! Been gone for awhile cuz **** around here has been a little boring, come back and see a pretty nice music thread!!!

May I suggest a little black death, Behemoth:

Some good ole' viking death metal, Amon Amarth:

When in doubt, go goth: Type O Negative does the Beetles

All three of these bands have been on heavy rotation on the ipod for some time.

R.I.P. Peter Steele

Saw Behemoth and Amon Amarth live last year and both were impressive live. Behemoth's drummer is a BEAST on the kit.

The videographer and this band have collaborated several times ALWAYS to great effect....

I must respectfully point out that while Stinkfist is a great song, Sober is one of the greatest of all time.

Nice tune dream. Now in my collection. Too bad they broke up.

For the record... 46&2 is the best Tool song eva. Awesome.

For the Iron Maiden fans out there...

Tickets are on sale... Time to go check out Harris, Smith and of course... Eddy.

I'm debating seeing Van Halen (speaking of old music actually). I know I know, but it's Dave and I'm curious. Loved their stuff back when. Only concert of theirs I ever saw was with Sammy so it's only appropriate.

Friend of mine saw em this tour and I didn't think they'd make it to my venue without a fight and subsequent break up. There's still time for that though...

I have heard from quite a few people that the show is great. I haven't been, though. You'll have to report back.

If anyone is in the Pittsburgh area and a fan of the hard and loud, make your way to Stage AE Sunday night for the Opeth/Mastadon show.

Having seen both perform, I can vouch for how good this concert will be. Unfortunately it's too close to oral boards for me to spend my time throwing up the horns.

Also, the new High on Fire is out, and Pike's outfit sounds as good as ever

Jourgensen does it again. So much for being 'retired.' Came out a few weeks ago with no press release.

By far, my favorite band of all time. I have Al and Paul to thank for introducing me to metal back in the 80's.

Hell yeah! Its amazing they could change so much. Check out the song "Love Change." Don't know if its on you tube or not, due to internet filter at one of the ASC's. I'm hard pressed to think of a band that changed their sound as much as ministry did between a few albums... christ, the change between 'with sympathy' and 'twitch,' was huge, as was '12" singles' and 'land of rape and honey.'

If anyone is a fan of doom, sludge, or early Ozzy-era Black Sabbath, I strongly encourage you to check out two bands with relatively recent new albums.

Pallbearer
40 Watt Sun

Enjoy the heaviness.

Have you ever heard of the early nineties British rockers The Wildhearts?

They're the best band nobody's ever heard of. Sardonic troublemaker metal.

They're all over youtube, and they rock.

I haven’t slipped out of the good old heavy metal days of the late 80's to mid 90's... IMO, it’s still some of the best music out there. Now there’s black metal, speed metal, death metal... Still trying to get into alot of it.

One of my Top 5 heavy songs of all time.... by Megadeath while Marty Friedman was still in the band... man that guy rocks.

Tournado Souls (off Megadeath's best album "Rust in Peace"): Probably my favorite solo of all time. If you don’t have the patience to listen to this... at least check out Marty at his best @ 2:15. This is a solo that starts off at a moderate tempo that ends with a BANG! Great harmony, arpegios, and overall feel/soul. Gives me the shivers....

Here is this stud rocking it... trying to be Friedman. Check ‘em out at 2:10 to give you the level of complexity that Marty Friedman has in his music. This young stud did his own rendition of the solo, which sounds fantastic... but it's NOT Marty. Still sick though, great finger speed.

Speaking of Megadeth, they are the tightest most polished metal band I've ever seen in my life.

A few years ago they toured with Slayer, and played the entirety of Rust in Peace straight through from Holy Wars to Polaris. It was tits.

And then Slayer went on and I lost my hearing for a week.

For the drum fans out there, here's a fantastic video I ran across recently....think great cymbal work plus 16th note blast beats at 210bpm

bonus, an equally good guitar cover of same song

and for shred fans, an amazing instrumental metal guy i heard about yesterday

Also going to a Motorhead show this summer, because, well it's ****ing Motorhead.

As we inch closer and closer to 1 Million signatures on our petition in favor of H.R. 4170, The Student Loan Forgiveness Act of 2012, ForgiveStudentLoanDebt.com is announcing a new partnership with YouLobby.com.

YouLobby.com is a new website designed for causes just like ours - a crowdfunding platform intended to help make our case in the halls of Congress. A million signatures on a petition is a terrific start, but if we truly hope to achieve our goals, we need to step up our efforts by engaging in direct lobbying with Members of Congress. The FSLD-YouLobby campaign is designed to help us do just that.

Therefore, upon receipt of this message, please check our the new FSLD-YouLobby.com campaign page and then help spread the word!

Thank you, all, for your continued support. Now, let's take the next step to help spread our message in the halls of power in Washington, D.C.
