If you're going to take another class, I would take a social science elective or art course elective that you have a good chance in doing well in to boost your GPA (ask around your campus, and look up professors on rateyourprof and such), simply because neurobiology may be harder than you'd expect, and you should concentrate heavily on getting good grades in that, bio and chem (aim for B and above).

I remember my advisor always stated that you need to take at least 15hrs to show medical schools that you can handel the workload, but now looking back on that I disagree (especially during your first two years of university). I think people who take less hours and getting a higher GPA have a better chance to getting into medical school than those who take many more hours and will end up getting Bs or Cs.

That is why I originally chose just 4. I rather have all A's than a b or c's

Take something that is light and easy to offset these monstrosities.

depends on ur gpa and how well you been doing with a heavy courseload. I'm currently taking 20 credits in which I might get a 3.8gpa (All A's except one) for this semester thanks to one class....
physics 2 w/lab chem 2 w/lab: Screw chem neuropharm neurobio of pain upper level english pathophysiology Next semester I registered for 22 credits. So it can be done if you choose the right professors, and focus. |

Bio 1/Chem I??? Mixed with Neuroscience? That doesn't make much sense to me. I don't really know how you can take an upper level without taking a foundational course but I'm sure your institution does things differently than mine. I wouldn't suggest it. Are you a freshman or is this your second year? either way I would take bio 1/ and chem 1. Take these courses seriously and do well because they will get you ready for the MCAT. No need to go overboard and see how much you can handle if you haven't even taken the regular prereq courses that weed most people out. 14 credits at your regular state school isn't incredibly horrible but 14 points at a top school is not easy, by any means. If you don't have to than I would stick with what you got and try to do extremely well in them. No need to rush things, especially since you don't know how hard they will be.
