Default AZCOPT Interview feedback

SDN Members don't see this ad. (About Ads)
Due to financial limits, I've had to turn down my seat at NECO and continue interviews late in the season. I am going to AZCOPT on Thursday and am looking for some info on the interview. Casual/formal? Questions? Anything would be helpful, really!

You are choosing MWU over NECO? That is the worst decision ever. A school that is non-accredited, with young faculty who only have OD's in the middle of nowhere. Tuition for MWU is a rip off because it is so much for Arizona. NECO is much better as it has been out for a long time has faculty that know more than optometry (phd's) and Boston, Boston is wonderful.

That comment was not helpful in the least. Maybe you missed the start of the sentence. Try again.

hahah. Well if you go into NECO, I'm sure you'll be fine getting into AZCOPT. Try checking out the interview feedback section.

Honestly, AZCOPT is really not that far from NECO. If any of the schools will get accredited, its the Arizona one. Plus the "middle of nowhere" ignorant comment is not appreciated. You will probably get a comparable clinical education in Arizona because there ODs can prescribe orals and treat glaucoma and do many other things that ODs cant do in Massachusetts and on the other hand because of it being a new school and hence a new clinic. Also, job prospects should be better there in Arizona as it is not as saturated as many OD graduates like to stay around their schools they graduated from.

Most careers are saturated and when the 1st class graduates there will be more optometrists in AZ. It all comes down to being an excellent entrepreneur.

The interview feedback section should answer most of your questions since the majority of people in this thread didn't.

As far as interview attire, it's always a good idea to throw on a suit and tie for males or a jacket with a skirt or pants for females.

2.3? Wrong. My gpa has boosted with post-bacc and other stuff I have done to be competitive.

From their website, just an FYI: of their 17 faculty, 5 have Masters degrees, and 4 have PhDs. They aren't all "just ODs."
