How to backup iphone contacts without losing the old ones?

everythime I use itunes to sync my iphone contacts the old contacts will be deleted automaticly, anybody know how to advoid this problem?

You could try and sync them to Google Contacts instead. You could also perform a backup before syncing new contacts, that way the old ones will be saved and when you sync again they should be apart of the new sync.
