When dealing with mcat, the basics is the most important things to know right? I am planning on studying the basics from bio, chem, physics, orgo for 2-3 months before i start actually buying mcat study books. Is this a smart move? Plz be nice |

MCAT study books pick out exactly those parts of the basics you need to know for the test. I'd recommend either starting with them, or using the topic lists as very firm guides.

If you are going to do that then use the topic list from AAMC and get familiar with all the topics. Google it and you'll find it.

I have not taken the prereqs yet, I start prereqs in fall. I feel that I really want to know the material. I know that studying for the mcat is useless now and that is why I just want to study the basics from each science so when I am ready to study for the mcat I am prepared.

so you're not even a freshman in college yet? Dude slow your roll. The best way to "study" for the MCAT is to do extremely well in your pre reqs. If you do that, then studying for the MCAT will just be review for you.

I am a junior in college, but I decided about a month ago to become a doctor. That is why I have not taken any prereqs for med school.

And this is why you ask the prereq question before wasting your time trying to help.
Take the classes. Try really hard to understand the reasons for everything. Study to know the material. You have a ways to go. |

OK but either way, if you're just jumping into the pre reqs slow down. Study hard for the pre req classes, learn the material properly, don't just memorize formulas and equations and do your best in the class. The strong foundation you build in class will carry over to your mcat studies.
