Cloth knot buttons just seem weird to me, but then again I've never had them.
I'd personally go with the 2nd coat. At least I know how to fix that kind of button if it breaks. |

I prefer cotton, but I'd recommend asking which is more popular in the residency.

I love medical school. Vaccines are one of the great triumphs of medical science. They cost little, have few side effects, are incredibly safe, and they don't cause autism. If they just made free beer, they would be perfect. Green our vaccines? They only green you will see by getting rid of vaccines or decreasing their use is the grass growing on the graves of children needlessly killed by preventable diseases. -Mark Crislip, MD |

All the doctors at Penn wear the cloth button cotton coats, they are awesome. I have one too, they feel really nice.

The most important thing is having pockets that fit whatever it is you typically carry around. So, if you like to carry an iPad, pick the one with pockets that fit it. I *really* like having an inside pocket for ID, money, meal cards and other stuff like that. Unfortunately, I had to sew my own pockets on the inside. Our pockets aren't big enough for an iPad either.
Who cares what the coat is made of? |

(side note: when interviewing, how can you tell what a hospital's pt population is? By seeing how hot the hospital is. The hotter the hospital, the more elderly the pt pop.) |
