Default Can't seem to break a 30 on the FLs

Well at least I'm consistent. P V BS T

AAMC 3 10 12 8 30
AAMC 4 11 10 9 30
AAMC 10 9 10 11 30

I have 2.5 weeks before I take the actual exam. Just took the AAMC 10 today. I don't know why my verbal has gotten so bad, but I was very disappointed in that PS performance. Still some easy questions I'm missing.

I'd be content with a 30 on the actual MCAT, but my goal is around a 33. Think I can improve by 3 points in about that time.

Yea, the difference between a 30 and a 33 isn't all that much. Are you in the upper range of 30? Meaning if you got 1-2 more right would your overall score go up? Or are you on the bottom range (1-2 more wrong and your score would go down)?

Mostly on the upper ranges, I compared my raw scores to tables posted on another thread.

Well at least I know what I have to study now after taking AAMC 10, though I hear most people score usually +/- 1 point from their AAMC 10.

I was almost always on the upper range on my individual sections as well, and although it was frustrating to be 1 question away from a higher score, it was comforting to know that I was closer to a higher score than I was a lower score. It's kind of like going into your final exam knowing that you can get an 80 and still come out with an A; well, not exactly, but close to it.

I was getting mostly 11s and 12s on every section with a few 10s and a handful of 13s. Never got a 9, but never got a 14 either. I felt like I could end up with a 36-37 even though my average was a 34. I definitely think you can get up to a 33+ on the real thing. It's been said a hundred times on SDN that the higher your score, the more luck is involved.

I haven't heard that about AAMC 10, but I hope you're right; I would be happy with a 34-36.

im just so frustrated with the fact that I keep getting 31's and 32's, but if I got 3 or 4 more questions right on each science section then I would be hitting 35+. However, for some reason it seems IMPOSSIBLE to get those extra 3 or 4 questions right. not sure what to do :/ exam on May 24th

Aria I'm in the same position. I think it's best to address your weak points, for instance for me it's optics, solution chemistry, electrochemistry, and molecular biology.

Have you tried taking another exam after doing this? I have been trying to brush up on some stuff I am rusty on. Just do not know if I can get a significant enough increase in 2 weeks

Well I took AAMC 10 2 days ago, I'm basically going through the EK 1001 books and then going to hit the TBR sections of my weak points. I'm planning on taking AAMC 11 on the 19th.

You can, I mean it doesn't take that long to learn the material for MCAT. The depth of these problems isn't too great.

Just go into finals study mode.

That's exactly what I did in the last 3 weeks.

Well I broke a 30

AAMC 8: 10 10 11 31

What I don't like is this feeling that the MCAT has changed so much that the AAMC's don't accurately reflect it anymore. If this is the case then they should give us newer practice exams that accurately reflect the actual exam.

Certainly on these practices scores I'm getting highly consistent results. But I'm wondering if this is because back then they were all relatively the same test.

I feel you, I feel as if I risk going under 30, at 30, or low 30s and wish I could get a 33 consistently on these practice exams. Alot of my mistakes is incorrectly reading a stem and not going back over it with a fresh new mind.

It's a lot of nitpicking for those 1-2 questions that'll increase your score from a 10-12
