Default Pennsylvania Pharmacy Intern Licensee

Hi guys. Please answer this question for me, its so frustrating because I can't figure out the state law in PA! Please help with any info you may have!

I am a second pharmacy student in arizona and want to do my introductory rotations in pennsylvania bc of family. I got my rotations for this summer set up in PA until i went to fill out the pharmacy intern license application with the state board and section E says that the school must verify that i have COMPLETED 2 years of pharmacy school!? what does that mean?? in arizona and any other state i have heard of, you get an intern license as soon as you start pharmacy school...im so confused. I had to cancel my rotations bc the PA state board wouldn't give me an intern license.

i'm not from PA so I have no clue or familiarity with the state board's rules here..can anyone please clarify this for me??

this is so odd to me bc what if you want to work as an intern while in ur first 2 yrs of school?? u just can't do that in PA? i called the state board numerous times to get an answer but they were no help, they all just literally said, "i don't know" or "i guess"! please help!

thanks soo much!!

I got my intern license as a P1 in a 4 year program, that 2 year requirement applies to six year programs where the 1st two years are considered "undergraduate."

You should still be able to get an intern license.

thank you so much for clarifying that! i'm so upset though because i already cancelled my rotations here. i had spent countless hours on the phone with the state board and so did my rotation coordinator at school as well as a couple other students. they just wouldn't budge or clarify the situation for us :/ and said there was no way we could get intern licenses

but thanks for letting me know, i will now spread the word for sure!
