Default 2012 Edition Rxprep calculations versus 120 SDN Calculations

SDN Members don't see this ad. (About Ads)
Hello everyone, I went through all of the calculations in the 2012 rxprep book which consists of about 137 problems and now I am looking through the 120 calculations provided by SDN and for some reason I'm just having a hard time working through the calculations provided by SDN. Just wanted to know what you guys thought about this and for those who has already worked through the calculations by rxprep, do you think this is sufficient for the naplex?

you need to be able to work through the SDN 120 questions. rxprep calculation is not enough

Then it is time to dust off the IPP book and start looking over selected topics. I am using it right now to look over all the molality and molarity stuff that I don't remember.

Oops sorry we have a class called Intro to Pharmacy Practice where we use Ansel's pharmaceutical calculations. I am sure your class is called something else. But yeah, that book should help.

http://www.theceinstitute.org/CE/f9f...s%20Review.pdf

This is a great review for moles, millimoles, mOsm etc, for when you're starting to review math. I suggest reviewing this pdf then the SDN 120 questions will make more sense.

If you're good with Pharmacy Math, RxPrep is more than enough. If you struggle with math then check out the SDN questions. I personally reviewed a sheet from school I have with 1 question of each type of problem (i think its like ~25 slides long). I did a couple from RxPrep and I printed the SDN sheet but I didn't feel like it was worth my time since I'm good with math.

RxPrep is great for the solid foundation you need before you work your way through the SDN 120 calculations, I struggled too but I made sure I did that packet and I can say it covers helpful problems and makes you more comfortable and even confident with the math that you'll be set for the exam.

Did anyone attend the review course by Midwestern University, Downers Grove, IL? If so, how helpful was the review? I am about to register for the next one (coming up in September 2012). Is it worth it? Please advise! I am re-taking NAPLEX & this is my LAST chance to pass. I need ALL the help I can get.
