Default selecting schools to receive your DAT score

SDN Members don't see this ad. (About Ads)
when I was registering for my Dentpin, it asked me to select schools to receive my DAT score and 30 dollars will apply to send to additional schools. And......since I wasn't going to apply this cycle I checked NONE just because I didn't want the schools getting my score during this cycle when Im not even applying and cause confusion.

was that a mistake???
if so, is there any way to change that?

i registered only couple days ago and obviously didn't take DAT yet, if that helps at all.

so worried (((

You can add schools for free if you HAVEN'T taken the DAT. After the DAT, its 30 for each additional school. Just select all of them. I made the mistake of not doing that and had to pay for 3 more schools.

I was actually registering for my Dentpin yesterday and stopped on that roadblock.

You actually can choose every school and it's no additional fee?

Awesome.

Sorry guys I'm very confused to say the least. So if I already took the DAT, doesn't the ADA send the score to AADSAS and then have that be a part of the application? In that case, we wouldn't have to pay?

If you haven't taken your DAT yet, then I wouldn't bother paying more money to have your scores sent. This is because AADSAS will send your DAT scores (after they are received by AADSAS) to any schools that you choose to apply to, so it would not matter if that particular school did not initially receive your free DAT scores when you first registered. In essence, any dental school you apply to through AADSAS will eventually receive your DAT scores irrespective.

I just find it weird that they would make you select the schools. I should have picked everything when i signed up for my Dentpin. Nonetheless, Im going to add the schools that I have selected to have my DAT score send to by the testing center.
Does anyone here know where I can go to request for additional schools to have my DAT send to? I haven't taken the test yet. When I went to ADEA, they sent me to a link that charges 30 dollars per additional school school I requested to add.

Can I still add schools for free if I've already registered to take the DAT?

I had the same problem. I get the page where I have to reselect all schools (the ones I had checked previously during the initial registration were not checked) and the next page shows a page where I will be charged 30 dollars for every school selected. Anyone know how to add additional schools (for the people who still have time before their registered DAT date)?

If you're getting charged 30/school before you actually take the test but after you scheduled a date then it's probably free only if you haven't SCHEDULED a date to take the test. After you have a set date, its 30 for each school. Just select them all the first time you register for the DAT.
