Hey everyone,

3 quick questions:

1. Is it ok to start your personal statement with a quote? It's one sentence and is the only one I used. I have heard mixed reviews. Just making sure it's not extremely looked down upon?

2. After I submit my application, I can still add people for Letters of Recs and it will just send them to all the medical schools I applied for correct?

3. Can I still submit my application if my transcript has not been received?

Thanks so much!

1. Eh. Quotes always seem cliche to me. I wouldn't.

2. Yes, up to ten.

3. No

I don't think it's looked down upon to use a quote. If it ties in to your essay and you feel good about it, I'd leave the quote

1. Kind of cliche. Don't waste the space.

2. Yes

3. Yes, you can submit primary, but won't be verified until transcript received.

i have a friend who used a quote but it was incorporated well. if it's a meaningful addition to the theme of your statement, go for it.

Agree with the above.

2) Yes, you can add more LORs after submission. Each will be sent to the school you designate to receive it. Be sure you don't send more than are allowed by each school.

This is correct. AMCAS will hold your application until the transcripts come. It's fine to submit before they are sent out by your school(s).
