Default Einstein: To apply or not to apply?

So here's the deal:

I've submitted my AMCAS primary and TMDSAS primary, and I already have one regret!

I really really like Albert Einstein School of Medicine. But I didn't apply because:

1) I'm already applying to 5 OOS schools (in addition to the 9 in Texas) $$$$$
2) Flight from Dallas to NYC + lodging in NYC $$$$$$ (if I actually got an interview)

So what do you think? If you are really intrigued by a particular school should you go for it?

Another thing: I know A LOT of people apply there- this lessens my chances a bit. Worth the risk? From MSAR, I know I'm in their stats range (4.0, 12PS 11VR 12BS = 35R), but still it's a lot of money to risk in applications/interviews.

you might be able to stay with a student for an interview
if you really like it, apply. it's a great school and rooms are cheap. this application season will help determine where you will be for the next 4 years. don't sell yourself short.

Do it. Above all, indicate your specific interest in the Albert Einstein School of Medicine. Send in letters of interests and updates to the admissions committee. Let them know that you really want to go there and you will improve your chances.

Thanks for the advice! I just applied and I'm really happy with my decision. Guess we'll see what happens!
