I took the mcat 5/19 and ended up getting a 33P (11's across the board). I have an upward trend in my gpa: Freshman year - 3.32 Sophomore year - 3.46 Junior year - 3.94 Senior year - 4.0 ECs: Intern at Amgen this summer, I have volunteered at 2 hospitals for over a year now, I have shadowed 2 doctors for a full summer, I have been doing research for 2 years (although no publications), also did research at brown (I go to URI), I have some scholarships/awards, a member of phi beta kappa, and I work for my school at the hunger center where we go all over the state and try and get people on the food stamp program. We go to food pantires, homeless shelters, soup kitchens, etc. (This is the main motivator to work with low income individuals and what I focused most of my PS around). Let me know what you think of my chances at my list of schools! THANKS!

Hi Sros,
I'm applying this cycle as well and our stats look very similar (almost exact trend as well!). By no means am I an expert but for my application I am applying to a buttload more schools just in case. Of course I'm from california so my chances are very different. If you're thinking about adding schools just take a look at MSAR and go from there. Good luck! |
