Post your MDapp link, and if you consider yourself an Underdog, Average Applicant, if you are a Re-App or Non-Trad student, and anything else you'd want to be listed with your screen name (ex: above average EC's, low MCAT/high GPA, no DO letter, etc etc). You can be more than one category (such as Underdog, Re-App or Average, Non-Trad).

Example:

Adding HTML to MDapps/Customizing MDapps

You can add basically anything you want to MDapps, including extracurricular's, your personal statement, LOR tips, a timeline, and really anything else you wish to add... and you can do this without HTML formatting. However, it usually makes the page look clustered.

For those wishing to separate certain parts of their MDapp profile from others with different colors and size fonts, we can do so by copy/pasting the below code to the "Update Demographics" > "Brief Profile" text-box.

<h1 style="padding: 0 0 2px 0; border-bottom: 3px solid #993300; width: 100%;">TITLE</h1>
<p class="blue" style="font-size: 16px;">SUBTITLE</p>
<div class="green" style="color: #3f682e; font-weight: bold; padding-bottom: -5px; margin-bottom: -10px;">SUB-SUBTITLE</div>
DESCRIBING TEXT HERE.

<p class="blue" style="font-size: 16px;">SUBTITLE</p>
<div class="green" style="color: #3f682e; font-weight: bold; padding-bottom: -5px; margin-bottom: -10px;">SUB-SUBTITLE</div>
DESCRIBING TEXT HERE

On my MDapps, "TITLE" is "Extracurricular Activities," "SUBTITLE" is "Research" and "SUB-SUBTITLE" is the actual research project name.

If you copy/paste those over and over again, you can make your MDapp look pretty spiffy. I also have anchor links and bolded text, images, etc added on mine which all show up under the Right Click > View Source command that you can hijack.

I like this idea...I'll contribute to it when I'm at my computer and not my phone

Great idea. I will contribute.

you only want underdogs?

I need to update mine. But I don't mind sharing. I'm pretty much your generic applicant

you only want underdogs?

Everyone! I just put that statement in my OP because mostly underdogs ask about having this GPA, with this MCAT, but with these EC's... and there's more to perhaps "look for" or "compare to" if you're an underdog - and MDapps lets you add really whatever info you're willing to share.

I'll make one soon, since I've looked at numerous profiles so it's only fair to do my part.

Gotcha. My mdapp is updated so if you start a list just add my sdn handle to it!

Thanks you all. I am going to update mine as well.

MedPR...i was looking at your profile and noticed you got 11 on VR..I think we both took 4/28 MCAT - HOW in the world did you get an 11 in VR on that particular MCAT?

I was scoring mostly 9's an occasional 10 and one 11 on my FL's and I got 7 on the real deal man. I only got one time an 8 on my diag FL, never again i got a score lower than that. That is, until the real test. WTF?

BUT, most importantly....HOW do you have 6k posts in 6 months?

Should I categorize the list according to MCAT score (something like x < 25, 25 < x < 30, 30 < x), or just go by what people feel (IE, if you feel you're an underdog, I'll add you in an "underdog" list, and if you think you're "standard" add you in a standard list... I'll also have a non-trad list, and a re-app list)?

Edit: Updated mine to include about my PS, how my LOR request email went, a checklist for my LOR's, a timeline of my AACOMAS/applicant life... if anyone wants to format theirs like mine, feel free to right click > view source and copy/paste the code in an editing program and input your info.

Back to MCAT studying, I'll work on this in a bit :) Thanks for all the support all. This will be a good list that applicants this year and those in the future will be able to use (many on the MD list are now MS2 or MS3 and their MDapp has been more than helpful to applicants this year [like NickNaylor's]).

Categorizing would be best just for organizational purposes. You should have people copy and paste instructions with their sdn handle and what they would classify themselves as (UD, standard, non-trad etc) much like the verification thread formatting.

Average? Hahahahaha no no sir....you are 5 points above the matriculant mcat average and well above average gpa's as well. Congrats!

Sorry for the misunderstanding, I know I'm a bit above average and certainly wasn't saying that to rub it in anyone's face. I just picked the most applicable section she had listed below, which was average. Although, I'm kind of non-trad. I've busted my hump to over come an IA for bad grades so thanks for the confidence booster!

Hahaha hey now I never said you were rubbing it in anybodies face! I'm in the same boat as you (except my mcat is a 26). My gpa is very high and above average even for top programs but I would still throw myself in the average category.

I took the 4/5 MCAT and I think our VR was easier than the AAMCs. About 4500 posts in the MCAT forum. If you find some of my older posts you'll see that I had no idea what I was doing and had a lot of really simple questions.

You'll be fine applying to DO schools. Don't worry about it! Your MCAT is average and your GPA is sky high.

I know you didn't, I reread what I said and it sounded snobish in my head, which is definitely not me

This is part of what I wanted to accomplish with the Underdogs thread. At first I requested everyone to make an MDApplicants profile so that we could post it, but nobody ever did it.

I know :(

So is this for applicants/matriculants from last cycle? Or the current cycle too?

Working on mine now!

Is there a way to enter a DO GPA and an MD GPA separately?

hopefulMD9, did you post your URL? Skimmed and couldn't find it?

Ok, everyone who posted so far should be added :)

The "Average Applicants" stats seem a little high to me :)

The "Average Applicants" stats seem a little high to me :)

That's just 'cause only those with above-average stats posted so far. Hoping more people will get a MDapp and post it that fit more in line with "average," (3.4, 26mcat).

It's coming along :) I added everyone so far. Did a search on MDapps for osteo students, and added some non-SDN profiles.

I also found some SDN Members who did not post in this thread. If you want your MDapp off the list, let me know.

Dannydickman and ManBroDude are the same person btw. That was his old name before they changed his SDN handle ;)

You can add me to re-applicants if you want.

updated! thanks guys! it's lookin' pretty well. :D

Great idea guys! Hope to add my MDApps once I make my profile! Will be nice to check the progress on this thread throughout the app cycle.
