Default What does hyrolyze mean?

NO2- is hydrolyzed.... with formation of OH-

Can someone please write the chemical equation for this?

NO2 + H20 -> OH + HN02

HNO2 is a very weak acid and therefore will not dissociate completely.

A hydrolysis reaction is where H20 or OH substitutes for a leaving group.
