Anyone heard back from schools yet?

I have gotten emails from NYCPM and Western that said my application has been placed on hold until my MCAT scores are released (sep 18). Does that mean they won't accept me if my MCAT isn't awesome?

I got my undergrad in business management and only took the pre-reqs. My pre-med education consisted of my freshmen year classes where I didn't exactly go to class as much as I should have... so while my GPA is a 3.5 (after taking some time off school I was a deans list student) my freshmen sins leave me with a 2.75 sGPA.

I am currently in post-bac Biochem and Microbio. I have 3 DPM family members and tons of shadowing experience including KSUCPMs summer internship. I have a job as a research assistant, community service, and 5 awesome LORs. If it weren't for me failing G-chem the first time, I would be about a 3.0 sGPA.

I feel like aside from failing that one class (and a C in a math class) I'm a competitive applicant (my sGPA is still in the range most schools accepted last year and everything else is good plus the sGPA will go up to about a 2.9+ after this semester) has anyone else been placed on hold until their MCAT scores are posted? Has anyone gotten interviews yet without an MCAT score?

So I got my MCAT score back today [26M] and a rejection letter from midwestern?.........

he said in his post that his sGPA was 2.75 , this might have caused that rejection since some schools have gpa cut offs even if you have a high mcat.

you will get interviews with that mcat so no worries there

Key thing to point out here:

OP is saying midwestern rejected him the same day his MCAT was released. This means midwestern didn't even see the score since it takes a few days for AACPMAS to post it. He was rejected based on GPA.

Denied by ocpm but got a big envelope with a booklet from nycpm, is that a good sign?
