Anybody have any thoughts about this program? They have a nice hospital and are in a great area, but people at scutwork.com really have a lot of negative things to say about it. The interns that I talked to seemed very happy, but a med student that I met on the interview trail did mention that the upper levels weren't particularly happy about picking up the slack of the interns since the 80 hr work week was brought over there.

Hmm.. well, I am a lowly msi (not at all qualified to even post).
but we do go into the hospital to do day-long rotations with attendings every month or so.

from the medicine residents i met, they seemed burned out. ..and these were not interns. as i said though, i do not know anything about this. <shrugs>

Thomas Jefferson is an above average program, but nothing special, as I'm sure you've probably realized. It's a great place to be if you need to be in Philly, but otherwise there's plenty of other programs that would offer better training and fellowship placement. University of Maryland is a much better program in my opinion, as the chairman is unparalleled, people are happier, cush schedule, and generally everybody is very satisified there. fyi, i interviewed at both places last yr.
