Default Failing Physics twice?

Hello everyone,

I'm currently a student at a community college, and so far my past two years have been okay. I've been getting A's and B's and have a 3.4 GPA. There is only one class that I've been dreading: Physics. And to make it even worse, it's not even an higher division physics, it's just regular general physics class. I took the class once, and withdrew with not effect to my GPA. I took the class one more time after a year, and I was so close to a C, but I eventually received a D. I want to transfer to a CSU or UC to get my bachelor's degree, and then hopefully be able to apply to Pharm School. How bad is this, and does anyone have any opinions on what I should do?

Is it possible for me to take this same Physics class at a CSU or UC instead? Would I be able to transfer without retaking this class? I've been having problems with this professor and his class.

Thank you all.

If possible, I would suggest applying to a school that doesn't require physics. There are a lot of pharm schools out there that don't require it..

If it was me. I would either choose -

1st. Take the class at another college maybe wait and see when you transfer to a 4-year institute to get your bachelors.

2nd. Take the class at another college during the summer preferably. I've found classes sometimes/mostly to be easier during the summer. So you'll be able to pass for sure.

Do you need to take Physics II as well? Or just I?

Just take it and try for a B-. Physics was the only class I scored below a B and still got into med school. Physics is one of those classes that can be tolerable or extremely difficult. All depends on the prof and how they write their exams.

Yes, for my bachelor's degree with Biology, I will need Physics II. I'm not sure if there is any truth to this, but my friend said that he also struggled with general Physics since it covered a wider amount of topics, while the higher division Physics is a bit easier to manage since the topics are a bit more specific.

I've been terribly depressed about this grade, I'm not sure how badly it will skew my chances of transferring or getting into Pharmacy School.

Go to this website and watch the videos in order under the physics section. If you fail again there is no excuse.

These vids are very good:

http://www.khanacademy.org/science/physics/mechanics
http://www.khanacademy.org/science/physics/fluids
http://www.khanacademy.org/science/p...thermodynamics
http://www.khanacademy.org/science/p...-and-magnetism
http://www.khanacademy.org/science/p...ves-and-optics

This guy is also pretty great at teaching (vids above). Over 100 vids easily, all on physics. It really helped me, I had a bad teacher and I failed the first two exams (59 and 34, respectively). Then I actually started studying and putting effort in and watching vids, a few hours a day for a week before upcoming exams, got 79, 74, and 89 on the last three exams, pulled a solid C in the class when I was done.

Bottom line, you're going to have to bust your ass and finish this class out, it's not going to be easy anywhere you take it.

I failed physics TWICE and passed it on the third try. I had a terrible professor and no options to take the class with a different instructor. I still was accepted to pharmacy school. I think it really depends on the school and what classes they value higher.
