Default 1st Year Residency - family practice

Hi, can anyone provide a description of their first year of residency in family practice? Did you rotate through different departments of the hospital? What about working in a private clinic? How long did you spend in each department, and do you get to choose areas that you prefer to be in?
thanks

most programs follow a basic formula....blocks of medicine, surgery, peds, ob with generally 1 half day in the clinic per week. you can look at any residency website and they should give you a more detailed view of their curriculum.
