Someday one of them is going to have a DO resident or attending pimp them so bad they'll cry.

There are still racists, anti-Semites, xenophobes, etc. There will always be haters. Judge each individual person by his or her character. Period.

Meh.

Doesn't really bother me. There are idiots on both sides of the fence. You've got to be pretty thin-skinned to let some yahoo on a random message board get to you.

wow, that forum looks like it was a high school computer science project that someone threw together overnight.

The people on that forum are largely Caribbean students and thus want to feel superior to someone, so they attack DOs. Rest assured that a majority of us US MD students think DOs are equivalents.

After burning my eyes to read that topic, it doesn't mean much. Let them think that. At the end of the day, DOs will have a residency while they will be lucky to get something!

I'm sure that website serves its purpose for USMLE questions, albeit some of the questions being asked are things first-years should know. Apparently that forum is not devoid of the same type of people here that love to to point out that they are an allopathic student in their own special way. Don't let it rustle your jimmies. The vast majority of people know those types of people are just making a fool of themselves when they act in that manner.

I couldn't help but notice a direct link for SOAP support on the left side of the site.

Yea, I always thought it was just an IMG forum. I wouldn't worry about what they have to say.

BTW, ostepath freaks have never out performed anyone. Look at the data! You should hear how attendings talk about DO's. They have to deal with you FREAKS because they have to fill a quota!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

DO freaks have just added to the MATCH crowd and the number of applicants. That is why people are pissed.

The truth hurts, but if you are not a MD-"MEDICAL" DOC, THEN go stick to your holistic ****.

JEEEEEEEEEEEEEE is there one DO out there who isn't dying of jealousy!

Keep typing that from your little hurricane magnet of an island as you try to pay off your 300k in loans for your two year USMLE prep course by stitching up cuts using coconut fibers.

I'll be up here, with a real job, not dying in a hurricane.

I think they are trying to push their insecurities of possibly not being able to match and taking it out on DOs.

LOL! clearly they are jealous and scared of the DO students...I mean theres a reason why someone would waste their time to make a thread on a crapy forum and take out their anger on others instead of studying for their boards lol

yeah but hurricanes are simply a small price to pay

compared to the large price to pay for attending one of those schools for 4+ years only to realize that you are the only dishwasher in your restaurant with 300k in debt.

Gee, wonder why those interviews didn't go well....

I guess SDN isn't nearly as bad as I thought. Forget board scores and grades, people with those attitudes have no business being in medicine until they have another 10 years of maturity added at least.

This is the result of living in the islands. It's like prison there. Having 3 interviews for a prelim surgery spot...Sucks for him. He's just upset that DOs are doing great and are getting the spots he wants in the NRMP match.

What makes me laugh is that he says MDs like "us", as a us md student DOs are docs similar to us (they trained for medicine in the US), whereas IMGs trained outside of the US and hold no US accreditation, or residency.
I've never met a US MD that considered an IMG one of "us" just by nature of their degree. If they kill their USMLE and residency, then they are a physician. The title MD or DO means nothing without residency.

I'm unfamiliar with the way ERAS filters for program directors, but this should be specific enough to narrow down the field I think.

I think we put a link to these on every thread that begins with 'Should I drop my DO acceptance and apply Carib'?'

This is the reason that I knew that if I didn't get in anywhere this year--DO or MD--I was not going to apply to the Caribbean. That must be a nightmarish situation.

Why would anyone go there for USMLE help? Dear God that is the worst message board design I have ever seen.

EDIT:

Also threads like these: http://www.usmleforum.com/files/forum/2013/4/724691.php do make me sad. Coming from the islands would failing Step 3 twice be the death knell? They're pretty much lying to him saying how psychiatry isn't caught up with scores, but I doubt even the middle of no where would accept such a student.

I think my favorite was this little gem... "The fact that you already had those interviews without step 3 is a good sign that you have a strong application!"

His stats? "206 in step1, 194 in CK and CS pass in first attempt"

If that's strong then I guess you can just call me "Titan", lol.
