I'm sort of to the point of craving being on this list just to hear SOMETHING from the last few schools on my list. Seriously, how long do they need to hold an application.....sigh.

Agreed..I still have ten (!!) schools that I haven't heard a word from despite being complete at all of them prior to August 10 :confused:
 
In a sick way, that makes me feel better. I am waiting to hear from 7 schools. Considering you also have acceptances, I have a bit of reason to be hopeful, as I am still waiting on those as well.....

But seriously reject me already, I can take it.

and now we know what applies to the md admissions office doesn't necessarily apply to md/phd

Just as expected. Too bad they didn't wait an extra day to send me the letter. Then my complete and rejection dates would have been 9/9, 10/10, 11/11.

Well, I figured it was a lost cause seeing how their last interview date was Nov. 17th. They should be ashamed of themselves for having a November 1st deadline with that interview schedule though, pretty much just a scam to steal money from applicants.

I was actually surprised when I got that letter. I presumed they didn't say anything until the end of the season but I guess I was wrong. The thing is, they didn't send an email. I got a letter in the snail mail. The funny thing is my status page on their website doesn't say anything about the rejection.

I think the status page is more linked to the MD program. The person I talked with said they do rejections through snail mail for the MSTP program. Sorry to hear the bad news. :(

Sorry to hear about your rejection from Wake and JHU. I was wondering if the Wake application date of completion your citing is the day you submitted the application or the day you received and email about your application being under review by the director?

I was complete at the beginning of August and immediately afterwards got notice about an interview invite (presumably as a result of this re-reviewing process) so if you submitted relatively early, it could be that some news is around the corner!

Actually, I got the email saying that my application is under review by the program director on 10/11. But on 10/20, I got another email saying that when I was submitting my application, the application website was dysfunctional and that I would have to alter/update something. That was the last communication I had before I got the big R email on 11/9 :(

Awww, now. Why you guys hating on WashU so much. I loved it and got accepted there today (very top of my list still after 10 interviews). Anyone with questions about the interview process may PM me.

The commitee interview is nowhere near as bad as it seems. It was about 10 faculty members and myself. They do ping you with questions but you just need to stand your ground and try to answer as best you can. Stay on topic and give direct answers. If the answer is "the field doesn't know" that is fine. If the answer is "I don't know" that is better than making something up....but try to rid yourself of the "I don't know's" before you get to campus. Good Luck!

I'm still waiting on Columbia too. Their site says that they take a long time to review apps, but its getting a little ridiculous, given that I submitted in late August.

Columbia sends out all decisions (acceptance and rejections) in March. I think Harvard and UPenn may do the same. I'm on the same boat- but since the interviews end in January for Columbia and Harvard (not sure about Penn), I'm going to assume that I'll be getting a rejection letter in March if I'm not invited to an interview by January. Oh, the waiting game...
