2013-2014 Drexel University College of Medicine

Anyone know if Drexel has posted their match list or where to find it?

It usually takes awhile to get it posted, but you can find past match lists on our Career Services website.

Most people seemed very happy with their matches this year.

Just got the "A final decision has been reached and a letter will be mailed to your preferred address." Classically this is the accepted or rejected status update. Wondering if others have had a status change?

When did you get the update? On a Sunday?

I hope you receive good news! How long did it take for your status to change from being under review by the committee to a final decision has been reached?

I haven't checked it for a couple weeks (just was a busy time w/ school and work) but saw that last year around this week Drexel had had a lot of status updates so checked it today, Sunday. Interviewed 12/6 if that helps give any time frame. Sorry for the lack of details just did not want to drive myself mad checking all the time.

Thank you for the quick reply. Hopefully all that waiting pays off!

anyone know when we will be receiving the financial aid package from drexel?

I've been placed on hold pre-interview, status updated as of today. Should I just expect to be rejected? :(

From the match list thread. If I recall correctly, the overall match rate and match to 1st choice was at or above the national average.

Hey all,

I interviewed at Drexel on 11/18. Since then, my status has read "Your file is currently under review by a member of the admissions committee and will be sent to committee shortly. No decision has yet been made regarding your admission status to Drexel University." I called about this last month and they said they were really backed up.

Does anyone think this is a bad sign about my application status, or worse, that the review of my file was lost or something? Thanks!

*I'm sorry, since about mid-January, my status has been under review of a committee member. Thoughts?

Hey all,

I interviewed 12/12, and since then my status page has read, "Your interview has been scheduled. If you've already appeared for the interview, your application will now be progressing through the Admissions Committee process." No change for 15 week. FIFTEEN WEEKS. This is the only school I've had an interview at...and it's taking them almost 4 months to respond. Any thoughts? I tried calling numerous times and all they ever seem to say is that they're backed up and behind schedule, and that there's nothing I can do on my end.

What do you all think?? Just a waiting game still...?

How much time is between the status update of a final decision has been made and receiving the letter?

I interviewed 12/12 too! I am also in the SAME exact position as you. I called Kelli Kennedy last monday and she said they should get to it in a few weeks....which is crazy, but I guess its still just a waiting game. I just want the status to change from something other than the "interview has been scheduled" one.

In a few weeks?? Oh boy. I definitely agree; I want my status to at least change. And my faculty interview went fantastic, so I thought I'd be good and things might go well. But I guess it's just a waiting game. This is my only interview I've had so I'm riding on Drexel right now being possibly my only acceptance. I thought about sending them my Fall grades but every time I called and asked, they said they don't need anything from me and that my file is just sitting there waiting to be processed by the committee. Should I send my grades you think? Or no?

If your grades are good, it cannot hurt to send them.

Did anyone received an email regarding scholarship application? What username and password are we supposed to use to log into the app?? thanks

Yes I did. Use your drexel one account information.
I received a letter via snail mail a long time ago saying that I could electronically "pick up" my account

when did you received it? Is it along with your acceptance packet? If not.. I guess they missed me... ;)

It definitely won't hurt ( as long as they are good). I think its good to have active communication, so any updates would be good. ( i.e fall grades, new volunteer positions, extracurricular, achievements ,etc etc. )

I figured as much. But every time I called the office and asked if I could do anything from my end or send anything they said "nope, there's nothing to do, there's nothing to do." Which is weird. But I guess it wouldn't hurt.

anyone know when we will be receiving the financial aid package from drexel?
Still waiting for the FAFSA award letter. I heard it should be sometime in April.

I DID, however, get an email regarding the scholarship application page.

Just as a general note to anyone still awaiting a decision POST interview, especially those from a few months ago...send updates to Drexel. Fall grades, new positions, etc. Anything really. They're very receptive to it. I sent mine in this morning and it's already updated in my Portal site. Definitely recommend doing it. You never know, it could be what tips your application into the accept pile?

On another note...anyone know how full the class may be getting? Almost 4 months post interview and I'm getting a bit nervous. (By bit, I mean VERY)

Where do you see that it's updated on the portal site? On the "Application Summary" page? What does it say? I sent something some time ago and never saw an update. I called the office and they assured me it was received and in my file, that it might take a while to update on the portal because they're really busy. Still, it's been over a week since that conversation and I haven't seen anything change online, just wondering if I'm looking at the wrong place.

Go to the status/decision page, click on Fall semester 2014-15, then scroll all the way down to the bottom of that page. They list things by the date that they're added. So things like your supplemental app, a fee processed or fee waiver, and then mine says supporting materials and dated today, March 27th. Do you see it?

Thanks, I appreciate you writing that out for me. That's where I was looking before but there's nothing there other than the usual fee/app/committee stuff with dates from long ago. Maybe I'll give them a call about it. Thanks again.

I just got an update! I am now "under review". Check your status!

Soo crazy just got an interview invite last week and I interview on April 3rd. Basically thought I had been denied, but got the email while I was backpacking through CA and flew home that next day to prepare. (April 3rd was the last interview date I saw open if anyone was curious). Any advice or tips heading into the interview would be greatly appreciated, such as is it open or closed application, do they ask any off the wall questions etc etc. thanks in advance ✌️

I got the "A final decision status has been reached..." updated on March 19. Called them on Friday (28/3) morning to see if letters had been mailed or when to expect them, and was told they were sent out that morning. Here is to hoping the letters are bringing good news.

I received my final decision on March 24 and was hoping since I lived close to Philly the letter would come quickly. Thanks for letting us know they only mailed them the 28th! Good luck!!

wow lots of final decisions lately.. what are the odds of acceptance vs rejection at this point :/ it could either be one or the other ugh

Has anyone received their Final Decision letter? The mailed address that it would have been sent to is in Western PA but still nothing in the mail. Which I was hoping would be here by now. I've waited ~4 months for a decision for them and these last couple days have been the longest. I wish all the best as we wait together

haven't received it yet...but they said it was sent on the 28th so it could possibly be soon?

Is accepted students day really April 5th? If so, all of us waiting for our letters will be in a serious time crunch.

good point. i would love to visit the school for accepted students day.. i don't think letters would take more than 3-4 days but i could be wrong

The RSVP for it was April 1st. I don't think you'd be able to go, but idk.

It is already April 3rd and I am still on "pre-interview hold". Called them yesterday and asked if there are any more interview dates and was told "that is to be determined". Also asked if I should assumed I am rejected and was told "not necessarily". Not sure what this means.

Anyone else who has neither interviewed nor received rejection? Has anyone actually received a formal rejection or do all rejected applicants receive this "pre-interview hold" treatment?
