It is that time of the year!:eek::eek::eek::eek: I figured out the asterisk situation, so it is now official.
Please include:
-Institution
-Interview invite or rejection
-Date you received it
-Dates offered for interviews, if applicable
-Applicant type (MD, DO, IMG)- optional
Good luck to everyone!
I will do my best to consolidate at the end of day, but everyone is welcome to help if you desire to do so.

When a program sends someone an interview invite (Temple on 9/17 for example) does that usually mean that they sent out their first batch of invites? Or they send them out as they go through apps?

I don't think so... It's been 4 days since apps were submitted. They cannot possibly go through that many applicants. I would say everyone has a fair chance until the rejection comes in.

are invites sent through ERAS email or the schools individual email?

are invites sent through ERAS email or the schools individual email?

Both. Most common way is via ERAS, which should be forwarded to an email you provided. But can also come just to your email without showing up in ERAS message center.

I may be a bit paranoid here but did anyone notice that some schools load USMLE transcripts first and then the rest of the application. I wonder if that means that they first pre-screen by scores and presumably if they loaded the rest you made the cut?
Anyway, anxiously waiting for the invites :eek::eek:

Yea I noticed they do that but they all end up downloading the app eventually, even if its days later. At least that has been my experience. But I definitely believe that that is probably the first screen.

Hmm.. I'm tempted to think that too. If so, I don't think all of them. Swedish loaded my USMLE transcript and then two hours later downloaded everything else. I received a letter from them informing me that I was screened out due to my USMLE score.

How are you guys planning to schedule interview dates? Should you pick the later dates, so PD will remember you, or pick the first dates so they know you are serious?

How about pick the date that works best for you?

Just to calm my nerves... Have most people heard yes or no from the above listed programs? I havnt heard a word yet from anyone...

I didn't ask to get a smartass reply from you. I can make all the dates work, but some programs have interviews on the same days and I was wondering if choosing later dates or earlier dates mattered.

I am assuming when people list up there, they have received an invite. I can tell you that CCF sent out at over 70 interviews today

I agree, almost all programs have had the transcript first and then the rest of the application within a 10-15 minute interval, however, I am not sure if thats an evidence of the application making a cut to PD's desk/ interview as I am yet to hear from a single program and now with over a week post-applications, hopes are fading as well :(

Just an FYI...National Board of Medical Examiners has informed us (sideways) that USMLE transcripts will be available to ERAS on September 25th. Not sure why this is, but I am sitting on many invites until I see USMLEs. I will start invites on September 23rd to my no-brainers, but waiting on many others.

I wish I knew why this was happening. When is the earliest anyone is actually having an interview?

This was from the Im interview thread from PD. Anyone heard of USMLE scores not being available to surg PDs until 9/25 even though ADTS shows them as downloaded?

I don't even know if this is true. I have friends going into medicine who have gotten invites.

That's only the usmle step 2.

and... It's not that it shows downloaded but PDs are not getting it.. You wouldn't have it. It's just a score release delay.

No idea if this is true but the post was saying that even though it says that your USMLE transcript is downloaded, there is some delay in the scores being available to PDs and maybe they actually cannot see them yet. I know people have gotten interviews already so I doubt this is true although I guess some PDs may send interviews before seeing scores, though this seems unlikely.

Mine too. I looked at the last year's thread and people were receiving invites as late as beginning of November. But it seems that most went out between 9/15 and 10/15

I may be overly optimistic but I think it is way too early to give up hope. These programs receive hundreds of applications and the PDs are usually working surgeons ... so I think we still have time:D

That gives 3 more weeks for dwindling hopes. I have not even heard from those few prelim positions I did apply.

Food for thought - MSPE's are not released until 10/01. Is it reasonable to assume that most invites won't roll in until after that time?

Trying to keep the fear level down :p

If anyone gets an interview for the Albert Einstein Montefiore program throw me a PM. I am currently a surg prelim there and am happy to give some insight from an interns perspective.
