I was surprised to see this wasn't already started! Now that the madness is officially underway for both MD and DO, let's get this thread going. Best of luck to everyone this year.

For these early interviews, is there any way to add in if it's the result of a rotation at that institution? So the rest of us don't get nervous about having applied there and not gotten an offer yet? :)

Yeah it would be a good idea to mention that going forth. I did not rotate at Case Western, they must just be getting an early jump on things. Some programs didnt even DL my app yet. I don't think anyone should be getting nervous. Looking at last year's thread, plenty of people had zero interviews until October.

Last year I got interviews at both the Monday after apps and rotated at neither.
 
No externship at Carolinas on my part. We're super early in the game, so I definitely think you shouldn't be worried. The programs are probably all still wading through the piles of applications we threw at them, so it could be that they haven't even read yours yet.
 
I'm guessing other than the dean's letter you guys are 100% complete, for those getting invites? Also how many SLOE's, just curious.

I have an EM LOR submitted, from a community ED. Not a SLOE. I am waiting on my SLOE from my July away, and I'm planning to submit a SLOE for the rotation I am finishing up soon.

I was pretty worried about this situation. So I guess we can all relax about those SLOEs.
 
Only one LOR turned in on my end (SLOE). No other letters turned in yet.

Don't worry about that kind of thing. Offers occur on a rolling basis of sorts, and the top guys in the pool always get offers before the rest of the group. Don't get stressed when you see other ones popping up on here. It happens every year.

Don't worry about not having all your letters in or not having a SLOE in! You can still get interviews without them!

When JKD fixed the list a few posts back it now looks as if these are all from MD/Dual programs. I'm assuming these are all straight MD interviews?

Just to test a theory, I wonder if any of the people listed above that have gotten interview invites (other than at places they are/have rotated at) have less than a 240 on Step 1. I assume it's those people (the over 240 club) are going to be the few that get the before MSPE interviews.... any proof to the contrary?
 
I have a step 1 over 240 and applied to a couple of the places that have sent invites (kaewah and Orlando) and haven't gotten an invite yet. I also submitted my eras on the 17th so I don't know if that would make a big difference.

Possibly. I was >240 Step 1, >260 Step 2. Applied 48 places, only 2 interviews yet despite applying some of the places other people have gotten offers for. Not sure how that affects your theory. I do know that I was talking to a PD the week after ERAS opened up and he was very surprised that people were getting interview invites ahead of the MSPE release date. I'd guess the interview offers have more to do with completed SLOEs than board scores. A lot of students are still waiting on all their letters.

I imagine a lot has to do with SLORs or maybe an extremely good LOR + good scores. I'm 240+ and my step 2 is >15 points above step 1. I only have 1 LoR available (from a new EM doc at a community academic hospital). Still waiting on my first SLOR (from a July rotation). Will be asking for another SLOR on an away that starts Monday.

But, yeah. No invites.
 
I think it's all about having a "complete" application. Complete at most places means 3 LOR, step scores, etc.

I've gotten 5 interviews so far (one of which I'm currently doing an away at) with a low 240s step 1 and low 250s step 2. I submitted 30 minutes after ERAS opened to 45 places and had 3 letters at that time.

I plan on doing 15 interviews.

I got 2 interviews with no SLOEs but had 2 letters (1 non-EM and 1 from a community EM). Just assigned my first SLOE yesterday and waiting on 1 more.

One interview with a non-SLOE (community) EM letter, two interviews after my SLOE was uploaded (got a Baton Rouge invite a couple min ago). DO student, >260 on both steps. Still waiting on my second SLOE, just finishing that rotation now.

For anonymity, you may consider changing your scores to the ballparks. There are probably very, very few people with the exact same step 1 and step 2 score.

It looked to me like a boilerplate list of interview days that they're just sending out for the whole interview season. I take it as an indication that even if the date is listed, it may or may not actually be available. I did successfully schedule for 10/2, however.
