Graduated 2014 w/ degree in Chemistry
NC Resident
cGPA: 3.4
sGPA: 3.1
MCAT: 28 (9/10/9) (Retaking in August)
Attending Drexel's IMS SMP program starting in August (sending grades from first semester in December)

ECs:
-2 years of volunteer EMT work
-1200 hours as a medical transcriptionist
-~200 hrs of physician shadowing
-part time job held through undergrad
-currently working at a well known summer camp for children with chronic/serious illnesses (amounts to roughly 1200 total hours of direct patient care)

MD list:
Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina
UNC Chapel Hill School of Medicine
Wake Forest School of Medicine
Drexel University School of Medicine
Temple University School of Medicine
New York Medical College
Rush Medical College of Rush University Medical Center
Pennsylvania State University College of Medicine
Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine

What have you done since your last application to change your application? It's good that you are applying to DO and you should probably put much focus on those applications. I'm not sure how much help your midyear grades will help with yur application. I would think by December most of the interviews would be scheduled or even completed. You might be better to wait until you are finished with the program at Drexel to apply.

Come back when you finish the Drexel program, and then I'll advise for MD schools. Your numbers are fine for most DO programs.

@Goro what is the point of applying(actually reapplying) to MD schools before the SMP even starts? I thought the whole purpose of doing the SMP is to make yourself a better candidate.
