MD & DO 3.44 cGPA, 3.25 sGPA, 30 MCAT, NY resident

100 hours volunteering in hospital
150 hours volunteering in clinical research lab
1 year full time research in lab, putting together a first author publication right now

Problem areas:
-low clinical exposure
-no LOR's from college courses
-no LOR's from physicians
-only a few hours of shadowing here and there, maybe 20 hours total?

Planning on applying to:
all SUNY's
PCOM
NYCOM
Touro (Harlem)
UNECOM
LECOM-Erie
CCOM
MSUCOM
Rowan


Thinking about applying next cycle because of LOR and shadowing issues.... might spend the next year pumping out more research and shadowing a ton. Thoughts? If I do this and get some good recommendations, what schools do you suggest? Thanks!!

Any DO school. Low sGPA is very problematic for MD schools. Try Albany, NYMC and Quinnipiac.
