BS- 11
VR- 10
PS- 10

Weird because PS was my strongest and BS weakest on practice exams. I think I could have studied more, but I am nervous that I will go down in percentile with the new MCAT


Upward trend in GPA

For sGPA:
2.58 during freshman year --> 3.78 for my senior year

cGPA:
3.11 during freshman year --> 3.82 senior year

I'm thinking about taking a couple of science classes this Fall to boost my GPA though that will be too late for this cycle

Working full time- 1000 hours so far
Worked part-time during college (15-20 hours per week)- 3000 hours during undergrad
Still volunteering at a hospital- 250 hours
Global health club- 100 hours
Research- 400 hours (hopefully I will be an author on a paper being written!)
Volunteer tutor
Another part-time office job (on and off during college, started there in high school though) - 1500 hours

UMass, Quinnipiac, UConn, University of Miami Miller, GWU, Georgetown, NYMC, Einstein, BU, Tufts, Drexel, Dartmouth, Hofstra, and Brown so far. I'm a Mass resident and I would absolutely love to go to UMass but I don't think my GPA is good enough.


I need to do more research on DO schools, but I really like UNE and TouroCOM. Do you have any other suggestions? I don't have any DO shadowing or a letter from a DO, so I'm not sure if this would kill my application.

Personally, I feel like your MD list is really heavy on reaches. I'm worried the low cumulatives will get you screened. Apply everywhere for DO. You'll be a shoe-in. I personally really liked DMU, OUHCOM, and Nova.

I tried to pick ones where my GPA would be above 10th percentile, but for most it is barely above. I'm going to look for more schools on MSAR with lower GPA ranges.

UMass will be difficult to get into with your GPA. Add more OOS schools such as:
Albany
Temple
Jefferson
Oakland Beaumont
Western Michigan
Loyola
Rosalind Franklin
St. Louis
Creighton
Also apply to at least 10 DO schools and you should receive several DO interviews.

I see a lot of posts about UMass being difficult to be admitted to, what's the average GPA? Also, isn't it only for MA residents?

UMass is very competitive. The average GPA is 3.73... I think 10th percentile is 3.5

Since it my state school and I would love to stay in MA, I applied
