-associate editor of 2 student run publications
-officer in biotech student group
-small amount of shadowing my senior year
-doing clinical research during my gap year
-have one presumably strong rec from a nobel laureate
-most of the grades pulling down the gpa are from freshman/sophomore year

List:
Harvard
Stanford
Johns Hopkins
UCSF
Penn
Wash U
Yale
Columbia
Chicago
Michigan
Washington
UCLA
UCSD
Cornell
Pitt
Northwestern
NYU
Virgina
Boston
Brown
USC
UC Davis
UC Irvine

I am applying to mostly top 25 research schools. Would my lower GPA (especially compared to my MCAT) keep me out of the top research schools? Thanks!

Nope, you're golden. Suggest adding UCSD and deleting UCI, and add Baylor and some of the UTx's.
