Hello guys,

I was hoping to get some opinions on my chances of getting in for an MD school. I'm a California resident and have a 3.82 cGPA and 3.85 sGPA. 33 MCAT 10VR/11PS/12BS.

For extracurriculars, I have done 2 years of research (no publications, 500 hours), 2 summers of clinic (120 hours), 1 year of health education training (100 hours).

Nothing wrong with aiming high. MCATs are a tad low for the UC system, but I think you're fine there. I took out the OOS public schools whose OOS accept rate was <15%; they tend to favor the home team, so you need to be above avg for them. Don't have most recent stats for U AZ, but U NV and U WA might be doable for you too.

Also, if you really want to stay in CA, then add Western COM and TUCOM-CA to your list. They'll snap you up in a second.
