It's that time of year to get advice on a school list. Here are my tangibles:

-AZ resident
-Applied Mathematics and Biochemistry Major w/Minor in Business
-34 MCAT(13,10,11) 2014
-cGPA 3.86, sGPA 3.87
-12 months volunteering at a private practice psychiatrist, which turned into 6 months of paid work
- 18 months of research requiring work with animals , immunohistochemistry, assays etc.
-1 publication on a public health mathematical model, though not first name listed
-2 year local service mission
-ample shadowing experience
-soon to be father
-will be teaching high school biology and coaching at a charter school during my gap year

I have family members that have gone through Texas medical schools as OOS and will be applying to the whole lot, and am seriously considering USUHS but would like advice on the rest of my list. If anybody would like to add advice on USUHS and Texas I'll gladly accept that too.

Here's my list as of now.

USUHS
UofA-Phoenix
UofA-Tucson
Baylor
Stanford
UCSF
UCSD
Duke
Tufts
Harvard
Wisconsin
UTHESCA
UTSW

I suggest beefing up your non-clinical ECs. The mission trip won't cut it.

TX are mandated to accept 90% of their classes from IS.

Do that, and then consider the below.

Nothing wrong with aiming high; the ones I have in bold are schools where your MCAT score is 2-3 points below their avg, and your GPA is ~ the same as the school avg. Thus, proceed with caution on these, but I feel you're in striking distance for some.

U AZ (both)
U Colorado
U VM
U Cincy
U Toledo
Miami
St. Louis
Albany
Albert Einstein
Rochester
Rush
Rosy Franklin
NYMC
EVMS
Wake Forest
Jefferson
Temple
Drexel
Creighton
Tulane
Dartmouth
Loyola
USF Morsani
Emory
BU
USC
Baylor
JHU
Mayo
Pitt
Northwestern
NYU
Vanderbilt
Columbia
Cornell
Duke

Any new MD school, especially Hofstra. Skip Central MI though.

Thank you, I appreciate the advice. I have a couple things in the works for non-clinical EC's and now have further motivation to make them happen.
