Hey guys. I was wondering what your opinion on my stats were. I got a 506 on my mcat (125,127,127,127). It's frustrating because C/P are my best subjects, and I did worse on that section than I ever did on practice tests. I was really let down by my score, but didn't think I'd have time to retake it this cycle.

My GPA is another story. It is a 3.58 cGPA and 3.58 sGPA. Here's the catch though, I got a 2.1 for my first three semesters at my first college, but transferred schools and have maintained a 3.98 since including all of my science and match classes, and As in many classes I got Cs and Ds in at my first school .

I have worked on a research project for over a year (400+hours) and presented my work at a conference, and am currently working on a new project. I've also had over 500 hours of shadowing, plus volunteering in the healthcare field and non-healthcare volunteering. I also have work experience. I'm also an Eagle Scout, if that carries any weight.

I am a TX resident, could you guys let me know what you think if my app? I applied to all of my state schools plus broadly out of my state to schools in my reach. I have in interview so far at TCOM, but have not heard from anywhere else. I am constantly checking my email and am very nervous about getting in. Ive worked extremely hard since transferring and will be so bummed out if I don't get it. I'm new to SDN and would like yall's opinion.

Thanks!

You should receive some interviews from the Texas MD schools with your stats but any one school is unpredictable. Have you applied to more than one DO school?

Thanks for your reply. I did recently applied to PCOM, KCUMB, MSU, and Nova for DO schools, however I really would rather go the MD route. I would be happy going to any MD school. I am not particular.
My MD apps transmitted around 7/7, and the lack of interviews so far, along with my odd academic record, is what has me worried. I know the MCAT is not too either and really feel like I could've done better, but I didn't think I had enough time to study and retake this summer.

It is far too early to be worrying about lack of interviews this early in the application cycle. Some interviews do not occur until March. You could add a few more DO schools to your application and you are competitive for any DO school.

Thanks a lot for your input. I will look at other DO schools.

Apply to TX schools (except Baylor) and you'll be fine.

Hey Goro, you still think I have a shot? I finished my secondaries in the middle of July. I'm not an expert on medical school interview timelines, but I see people getting interviews who were done after me. It is worrisome. Thank you
