Why does academia push hospital pharmacy and residency so hard? Seems as if retail is like the red headed step child. Any insight? Does it look better if students match into residency or get hospital jobs?

There might be school rankings that incorporate graduates that secure residencies but not entirely sure.

You have to remember the ones in academia are those that pursued academia. It is pretty natural for those that have made a decision to be partial to suggesting the same decision that they have made to others. If you ask a DM or corporate retail manager what path to take im sure they would say become a RXM right out of the gates...

Yup. It is selective bias and little more.
