Hi all,
I recently graduated from a GPR and am starting as a part time associate in a few different offices. These offices participate with several PPO plans and I was wondering if it's a good idea to sign up with them to be listed as a preferred provider. None of the dentists have brought this up to me, and none of my dentist friends in my position have done this. What are your thoughts? Are there drawback to doing this? Does it even cost anything? Thanks everyone.

If it's not in the contract, it's up to you.

If everyone else in the practice is signed up, depending on arrangements, your patients may go with the in network provider if given the opportunity to pay less.

Really don't have enough info re: the practices to advise.
