ACPE 2016 Draft Standards

Has anyone checked out the ACPE Draft Standards? Any new language that might help curb the explosion of new schools? I doubt it, but am hopeful. After finals are over, I intend to read it. I think LCME is also working on their Standards reformatting. I'd love to see the differences in accreditation requirements of the two programs.

Why would the ACPE do anything to curb the explosion of new schools? The more schools there are, the more money ACPE wants. They have absolutely no reason to curb the expansion of schools, and every reason to encourage the expansion of schools.

There should be more consumer information provided by schools about their incoming classes and attrition rates. If pharmacy schools are going to be open admission then prospective students and employers deserve to know the quality of students at a school. If needed the ACPE can look to the required disclosures for law schools as a template for reports. The reports are at http://www.abarequireddisclosures.org/ and list the percentiles for incoming GPA/test scores along with number of applications received, offers, and matriculants.
