I keep on losing my stethoscopes and found this on amazon: http://www.amazon.com/American-Diag...n-Adscope/dp/B000E5VIPW/ref=cm_srch_res_rtr_1

It has good reviews but it's a single head. I haven't really started clinical rotations yet so I don't know if it matters or not. If I really need to, I can manage to scrounge to buy something nicer.

Also kind of curious about this. Wife bought me a singlehead cardiology one for my birthday, seems overkill for med school, not sure if it'll help or hurt me.

You can get your name engraved on a stethescope, and since you sound like you've lost more than one, get your phone number engraved too. That way if it becomes "lost" and someone took it, it'd be super obvious. If you keep misplacing it in common areas people will be able to find it and bring it back to you. I bought one online for about $85 and the engraving was free for a number of characters. It looks very nice, and people always ask where I got it done. (losing stethescopes seems to be common among the students and residents, and rarely a week goes by when someone isn't running all over the hospital trying to remember where they set theirs down.)
