Hi all,

There are three classes that I took in the psych dept (cog neuro and stats) which were more psych based in nature (research methods and the psychological aspects of cognition were focused on)

Would amcas reclassify these classes as bcpm even though they are solely listed as psych courses? I plan on listing them as bess courses and kind of dont want them to be reclassified to bcpm as it would lower my bcpm gpa...

Your thoughts would be appreciated. Thank you!

If they are through the psych department you can probably make the case they should be under BESS. I doubt they would change it but it is out of your control.

Neuro and Stats might be (neuroscience falls under Biology in the AMCAS classification guide, and stats falls under Math). But it depends what criteria the AMCAS reviewer uses to determine that a class needs to be switched, so you might as well try listing them all as BESS and see what happens.

(misread original post, my bad!)
