Could someone please explain what the highlighted area of the graph means?
Why did the Anaesthesiologist stop recording readings?

That's an odd-looking record. If those numbers at the top/bottom indicate the hour, then those are 10-minute blocks, when vitals should be no less frequent than q5 minutes.

Was this a cardiac case that involved bypass? If so, then the highlighted area represents the time on bypass, as there is no heart rate and measureable systolic/diastolic blood pressure to report. When on pump, usually just the mean pressure is reported, often by Xs (in this case, MAP 60 the whole pump run?). Although, usually for cardiac cases, the BP is recorded as arterial BP, while this record is using the symbols for noninvasive BP.
