I work ER and have seen many known abuse cases. Starts to make me wonder how many others we have overlooked. The vet I work for is doing a forensics course to be able to help our local welfare departments with abuse cases.

At the APVMA Conference last year in Iowa, they had a short talk/lecture on animal forensics cases - sounded very interesting. Before that, oddly, it was something I never really thought about at work. A dog comes in with bruising and mostly we just assume it's from roughhousing at daycare or something like that. Would definitely be beneficial to have a course like the one you mentioned for local clinic and shelter staff.
