Anes---Pain management vs Psych---Addiction treatment

Hey guys, need some advice here. Im a 3rd year student trying to decide what to do for the rest of my life. Pain management or psych&addiction treatment.

Can a pain management practice treat addictions other than opioids like this website mentions? http://www.pgpsychiatry.com/feeschedule.html (I assume methadone and suboxone are mainstays for pain management practices for addiction)

I sorta like both subjects. Any thoughts or advice? Thanks.

If you are interested in psych/addiction I'd go that route. It has been under served for years and its being recognized. Plenty of work and, from what I've observed, an awful lot of nice people in the field.

Agree. The OP's decision should be based upon their clinical interests and comfort, not a fee schedule. There are a lot of bad actors out there with cash-only suboxone practices. Don't go that route: http://www.nytimes.com/2013/11/17/h...-the-street-bupe-can-be-savior-or-menace.html
