anki replacement for note taking

Anyone simply use Anki as a replacement for taking notes? I'm starting to just insert key facts or concepts straight into Anki for future studying ...

How did this work out for you? Was using Anki helpful? I usually memorize through notes and highlighting for school exams, but not sure if I should make a switch to Anki for the MCAT.

I did it while teaching myself all of biology from the TPR book. It worked so well I went from a 6 to a 12 in BS without any classes and only the 2 practice passages per chapter the book contained.

I did find though, that the cards I made earlier in the chapter sometimes needed editing once I understood the whole chapter.

It's absolutely essential for bio. There is simply too much material.
