The Anne Arundel Medical Center would like to invite qualified individuals to apply for a 1 year research fellowship position in the Division of Orthopaedic Surgery, Center for Joint Replacement. The fellowship, which begins in July 2015, will be under the direction of Dr. Paul King, Director of the Center for Joint Replacement, and Dr. Adrian Park, Chairman of the Department of Surgery. Anne Arundel Medical Center is located in historic Annapolis, Maryland and is one of the fastest growing hospitals in the state, as well as the leading Joint Replacement program. In addition, the hospital has adopted the mission to significantly expand its academic activities.

The research fellow will work closely with surgeons to organize and direct all research efforts of the Center for Joint Replacement, within the Division of Orthopaedic Surgery. Research efforts are focused on conduction of single or multi-center clinical trials, retrospective and prospective database studies, video and abstract preparation for meeting submission, database design and creation, and application for private and federal grants. Ample opportunities exist to collaborate with residents and faculty from other academic institutions.

Besides a full-time salary and health benefits, the position offers a unique supportive environment with ample resources including a clinical research nurse, statistical analysis support, and college interns interested in medical careers who will assist research efforts at the direction of the research fellow.

Qualified candidates will have completed medical school and have an academic interest and background research experience. Interested candidates should submit their CV, 2 letters of recommendation and a personal statement by email to Regina Pressley, Executive Assistant Department of Surgery at [email protected] .
