With limited resources I am considering avoiding interviews at places with excess internal applicants. Recently interviewed at a program with 2 spots and 6 internal candidates. Needless to say I had a slight feeling I wasted my time going there. I was glad they considered my application though. Anyone else getting that feeling? Is this a good idea?

you know, just like in residency interviews, i think of them as experience, and fine tuning my presentation for those programs that might really be interested....
