I just took the MCAT and scored a 16M. Yes, I know it is severely low!
Since I am graduating this Fall (2007), my plans are to study rigorously for the MCAT during the Spring and Summer, retake it in early May (2008) to apply by June 1st, and in addition to studying for the MCAT, I also plan on doing either research or working as a CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant).
My questions are:
1)In addition to applying next year, should I also apply this year? Will it improve/hurt/have no effect/some combination of these...my chances of getting in next year? From what I understand, it is almost certain that I will not be getting in anywhere with a score this low now, but it might look good when I apply a second time next year having shown some improvement.
2)What do you suggest I do in my spare time from studying? What will look best? (Research, working as a CNA...I have my license already, etc.)
Thank you for your time!
